Definition:
Projection is the unconscious transfer of one’s traits, emotions, or conflicts onto others. It often reflects unresolved aspects of the psyche, such as shadow content or unacknowledged desires.
Example:
Recognising and withdrawing projections allows clients to reclaim their disowned qualities and foster self-awareness. For example, feeling irrational anger toward a colleague may reveal repressed feelings of inadequacy.
